I'm in Las Vegas!

Today, Friday the 18th of September, I only went to the first two classes of school because I would go in the afternoon to the airport to fly to Vegas. Unfortunately, I was really tired while waking up so I felt asleep again. So I couldn't call with my mom either in the morning before school. Happily I was on time in the morning but I couldn't have been a second later. After the two classes Tim picked me up and we went to Las Vegas with Doug's mom, who I call grandma, and one of Tim's family member. My first impression was that it is very fancy and they have even whole replicas of the Eifeltower and New York. It is ridiculous. In the afternoon we walked a bit trough the city and had some lunch. Doug gambled in the casino and that resulted in a win of 350$ by playing black jack. In the evening we went to a fancy restaurant with every half an hour a live show on a lake right next to the seats at the restaurant. Next day me and Tim had breakfast around 1 o clock and Tim ordered a tortilla with waffle fries but, as the coffee was forgotten, also the waffle fries, we thought were forgotten to be served, but they were in the tortilla. That was pretty weird. In the evening we went to the Michael Jackson One show. That show was a good professional show with a lot of dancing on the music of Michael Jackson. Next day Tim and me brunched with Nick, Jeremy and a woman who brought her exchange daughter with her. I met them all and had a nice time and enjoying brunch with them. After we finished eating and saying goodbye, Tim and I went to the zipline that was in the old party street of Las Vegas. The zip line was awesome. It was high and I was a bit nervy but I had a feeling of freedom when I laid in that harness and was flying down from the beginning to the end of the old and popular Las Vegas street. Today was our last day in Las Vegas and I experienced Las Vegas as a fancy city and I did amazing things here. I still find it crazy that this big city is built in the middle of the desert...
Monday 21 September we had our flight back to Houston but we forgot to get my passport out of the locker in the hotel so Tim Doug and me hurried back to the hotel and picked up my passport and we were right on time for our flight. We also didn't eat until 4 pm so we were really hungry and on our way to home we picked up some food and that is the end of an amazing trip to Las Vegas.

Maarten! Wooooooowwww wat maak je in korte tijd waanzinnig veel leuke dingen mee! En vooral je verhalen schrijf je pakkend en boeiend, knap hoe je het allemaal oppakt! Ben trots!!! -

Wat leuk om je mooie verslag te lezen,we waren erg benieuwd hoe het met
Je gaat maar zo te zien geniet je met volle tuigen
We vinden het wel vreemd,dat je zover weg bent.
Hoe gaat het op je school,.

Hoi Maarten,
Fijn te horen dat je het naar je zin hebt. Zoals ik gelezen heb in je mooie verhalen zijn daar Tim and Doug die je daar geweldig vermaken en helpen als dat nodig is.
Ze nemen je overal mee naar naar toe en laten je de mooiste dingen zien. Super gaaf zeg. Las Vegas, daar wil ik ooit nog wel een keer naar toe, maar jij bent er al geweest!
En dat op jou leeftijd. By the way. Je schrijft al heel goed engels , knap hoor!!

Beste Maarten,
Je reisverslagen en belevenissen; waarbenjij.nu in het Engels, waaauw, heel erg leuk en spannend geschreven. volgens mijn kundig oog is het foutloos en ook al een beetje Amerikaans. Compliment Maarten.!
Fijn te zien, te lezen, te horen dat je het heeeeel erg naar je zin hebt in Houston.
Op dinsdag waren wij met een groepje van de Zwitserse club in Café Bern Amsterdam.
Twee nieuwe gasten waren er, een Zwitsers vrouwtje Lisa, zij heeft een Zwitserse vader en Amerikaanse moeder.
Haar ouders wonen in Houston.
Lisa woont met haar echtgenoot Marcel in den Haag. Zij wilde weten op welke High School je zit. Zij is in Houston opgegroeid en daar ook naar een High School. Misschien is het wel dezelfde.
Zal vaker je berichtjes lezen en een reactie op geven, want een kleinzoon in de State is heel bijzonder.
Vriendelijk groetjes van Oma en ook van opa de groetjes.
Vandaag zoals bijna altijd op donderdag is Opa naar de Film in Amsterdam.
